I am absolutely furious about the A-Level results debacle and the impact it’s having on young people across the Borough. I’ve been out in the media demanding a Government U-turn to go back their predicted grades as a more reliable measure of students’ achievements.

The current algorithm literally judges young people based on where they’re from and which school they went to, rather than who they are and what they can achieve.

It’s a disgrace.

I hope the Government u-turns this afternoon. They had months to prepare for this and they’ve had days since results day to act on this injustice. In the meantime, young people have been in despair.

Young people deserve better.

I spoke to the BBC about this issue, this can be viewed here.
