Wes Streeting for Ilford North
My Work in Parliament
My work as Ilford North’s Member of Parliament is divided between activity in Westminster – questioning ministers, raising issues on the floor of the House of Commons and scrutinising laws being put through Parliament – and locally in the constituency, where the bulk of my staff are located to make sure that we’re on hand to handle the huge volume of casework and enquiries raised by local residents.
There are a number of things I am able to do for you as your Member of Parliament in Westminster:
- Raise questions to ministers and speak in debates on key issues of concern to you – as well as casting my vote on legislation going through Parliament
- Arrange tours of Parliament for local groups
- Provide work experience opportunities for school pupils and paid internships in my office
As well as my work in Westminster, when conditions allow I’ve been out and about every week – knocking on doors, attending community events and holding regular advice surgeries – picking up issues to inform my previous work in Westminster and helping out people with their individual problems wherever I can.
I do my best to fit Parliamentary tours for my constituents into my schedule. To book a Parliamentary tour, please contact my team by email, telephone or by post and we will do our best to fit you in. My contact details are available here.
