On Saturday, May 9, The Federation of Redbridge Muslim Organisations (Formo) held the virtual Iftar to connect people under lockdown to break fast together over the Zoom video app. I was very pleased to be able to take part in this event along with around 50 guests, including families, NHS teams, teachers, councillors and council officers.

Breaking fast virtually was a sign of the times we live in, where normally hundreds of people would be gathering together for prayer and this underlines the challenges all of us are facing.
I want to share my congratulations to the Foundation of Redbridge Muslim Organisations for putting on a virtual iftar to bring people together. I also want to our local Muslim community for everything you do for all of us. Your Covid-19 response has been phenomenal and typically big-hearted.
