I’m really glad parents and staff have won on William Torbitt!
This is a testament to the school’s leadership, staff and governors who’ve worked so hard to address the weaknesses identified by Ofsted, with the support of the local authority.
This is also a victory for people power and I’d like to say a big thank you to all the parents and staff who campaigned for this outcome with the support of the National Education Union and the GMB union.
Parents can have full confidence in the school and I’m relieved that the school can move forward with certainty about its future as part of the strong Redbridge family of schools within the local authority. I’ve been so impressed by the way they’ve risen to the challenge and want to wish them every success and my full support into an even brighter future.
