I’m very concerned about the impact of Covid-19 on high street businesses. I’ve been talking to lots of local business owners and recently met with the Ilford Business Improvement District and Exchange shopping centre. They’ve all made it clear that help with business rates would make the most impact on their businesses.

Today I called on the Local Government Secretary and Chancellor to give our high street businesses the support they need through business rate relief.
