Wes Streeting visited Hainault Forest Country Park today for an event to publicise new facilities and summer activities available in his role as the Council's Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing.
Vision, the Council's leisure provider, has restored the site used by the armed forces during the London 2012 Games and improved facilities for the public. Families are now able enjoy improved landscapes, a train ride around the lake, donkey rides, ceramics workshops and the farm, as well as the beautiful open space.
Wes said: "There are a range of fantastic events on offer at Hainault Forest Country Park, providing fun for all the family. The best news is: all of these activities are either free or very reasonable priced, which caters for all budgets. I was particularly impressed by the new Ceramic Magic centre, which offers cheap arts and crafts activities. The children I spoke to certainly enjoyed it!"
"As Cabinet Member with responsibility for the Council's leisure offer, I'm committed to providing affordable activities for residents. The Council faces some difficult financial choices in the next few years, but I'll do my best to make sure that people struggling with their own budgets have affordable things to do to improve their health and wellbeing."
