Documentary maker and former Eastenders star Ross Kemp hit the campaign trail in Hainault this morning to back Wes Streeting's bid to be Ilford North's MP.
The pair visited shops on Manford Way, talking to local residents, shop workers and business owners about Wes's campaign and Labour's plan to make our country a better place.
Ross, best known for his worldwide documentaries and role as Eastenders hard man Grant Mitchell, spoke to residents about a range of issues - from Labour's plan to cut business rates to policies designed to make our country a fairer place.
Wes Streeting said: "I'm really proud to have Ross Kemp's support. Like me, he's from a working class family - his dad used to work for the police out of Ilford police station - and we both believe in a country where your talent and hard work should determine your opportunities in life, not being born with a silver spoon in your mouth.
"This election in Ilford North looks set to be the closest race since 1974. We had a great response from shoppers in Hainault - I'm not sure people expected a selfie with Ross Kemp when they went out for their fruit and veg this morning! I'll be spending the next six days speaking to as many people as possible about why this election matters and why they should use their vote on May 7th for Labour."
