Wes attended Remembrance services in Woodford and Ilford during the course of Remembrancetide.

On Saturday 7th November, Wes attended the Woodford Memorial Service at All Saints, Woodford Wells, alongside Chingford and Woodford Green MP, Iain Duncan Smith and on Sunday 8th November he joined Mike Gapes MP at at the Civic Service of Remembrance at the Ilford War Memorial. Wes also collected for the Royal British Legion at Newbury Park tube station as a member of Barkingside's Royal British Legion branch.

Wes said:

"It was a great honour to lay wreaths on behalf of the people of Ilford North at the Woodford Memorial Service and the Civic Service of Remembrance. At this time of year, we remember all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country to protect the freedom we enjoy as British citizens. I particularly thought of my grandfather, who fought in the Navy during the Second World War.

"The great turnout at both services is an encouraging sign that we continue to honour the pledge we make each year: we will remember them."
