This week the All Party Parliamentary Group on Taxis began an inquiry called Lessons from London: The future of the UK taxi trade.
The issues facing the taxi industry in London and right across the UK need serious action, and we hope that this inquiry, which will lead to a report and recommendations, will add to the debate about what the trade will look like in the future.
I know that in London the black cab is an icon that everyone would like to see continue to serve our capital.
We welcome submissions from Taxi drivers across the UK alongside the expert witnesses we will have contributing to the inquiry. You can do this by emailing APPGTaxi@newingtoncomms.co.uk with your thoughts on the issues the inquiry will cover. Please do keep responses to 300 words and send them in before 31st March.

I can’t promise to fix things overnight – no politician can. But I hope that through this report we can put real pressure on our Government and regulators to deliver the change that supports the taxi industry for many, many years to come.
