Mitzvah Day is the Jewish-led day of global social action where people from all backgrounds donate their time to help others. Over 35,000 people take part. Redbridge Jewish Community Centre - one of the largest Jewish community centres in Western Europe - hosted an afternoon tea for pensioners, complete with sandwiches, cake and a live music performance.

Wes said: "It was great to join in the Mitzvah Day spirit, serving teas to over 100 people from the local community and beyond. People seemed to really enjoy themselves and the team did a fantastic job decorating the hall for everyone. It's important to give time for others and the message from Mitzvah Day is that there are 365 days in the year to help, so I hope it inspires others to volunteer on a regular basis. Thanks so much to Mia and the team for having me along. I really enjoyed it."
