Living Wage Breakfast

It was great to host a Living Wage breakfast last Friday with Mike Gapes and Redbridge Citizens in Woodford.

I am grateful to the local employers who turned out to discuss how the living wage can be good for both employers and employees, and it's great news that Jas Athwal - Leader of Redbridge Council has committed Redbridge to paying the living wage.

The living wage has such a big impact on the living standards of those earning the least in our society. One in five people are still paid below the 'real' living wage, which is currently £9.75 an hour in London.
