Lee Scott Downplays NHS Threat in Expenses-Funded Leaflet

Residents across Ilford North received a leaflet in the post from Lee Scott MP today, downplaying the current threat to local NHS services. The leaflet, which was claimed on parliamentary expenses, made no mention of the NHS Trust going into special measures, bed closures at King George Hospital or the recent statement in Parliament by Health Minister Jane Ellison MP that the government still plans to close Accident and Emergency services at King George Hospital.

The leaflet is published below for residents to decide whether this was a good use of taxpayers’ money.

Wes Streeting said: “Labour is determined to fight tooth and nail to save A&E at King George Hospital. David Cameron has already broken his promise to keep maternity at King George Hospital and A&E is still set for closure. It’s important that politicians are honest with people about what’s happening.

“As Ilford North’s MP, I certainly won’t be using parliamentary expenses to fund political communications.”
